Female Athletes

Female athletes have up to 8 times as many ACL injuries proportionally  as male athletes,

largely due to physiological differences.

Physiological differences in men and women mean that male and female athletes need different

treatment. For example, women have a wider pelvis and that leads to an increased Q angle (the angle

formed between the quadriceps muscle and the patellar tendon). This leads to an increased risk of

injury to the knee. It is vitally important that female athletes learn how to stabilize the knee through the hips and arches of the feet.

That is just one of many important differences. Come in and receive treatment that is tailored to you instead of one size fits all.
